Your story belongs to you.
Last updated August 2026
John-Michael asks you to share real, personal things — your history, your relationships, your struggles. We take that seriously. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Account information — the email address you sign up with.
- Conversation history — what you say to John-Michael, so it can remember your story across sessions and hold context day to day.
- Billing information — handled directly by Stripe. We don't see or store your card details ourselves.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not use your conversations to target ads at you. There are no ads.
- We do not share your individual conversations with anyone outside the small team operating John-Michael, except as required by law.
How your conversations are used
Your conversation history is used to personalize your experience with John-Michael — so it can recognize patterns, recall your history, and coach you day to day instead of starting over each time. Messages are processed using Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. We do not use your individual conversations to train AI models.
Deleting your data
You can request deletion of your account and all associated conversation history at any time by emailing us at the address below. We'll confirm once it's done.
A note on sensitive topics
John-Michael is not a crisis service and is not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are in crisis, please contact 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or your local emergency services directly.
